Q's about car-trailer wiring.

Are most car trailers 6 pin wiring? If so, how hard is it to adapt 4 to 6 pin? What are the extra 2 connections.

I also realize that an electronic brake controller is necessary. Anyone have the coles notes on how it works?

I assume you mean 7 Pin if you are talking trailer brakes, as they are more popular, the middle can be used to power reverse lights or other accessories as needed. If you google Trailer Wiring, you will get a crap load of pics etc, here is one.
