I am finally getting around to fixing up an old truck that I took on trade for some tires.

I traded it for a set of 4 235/75x15 tires. So I have about 300 dollars into it.

I was able to pick up a transfer case for it off this forum a few years ago and last week I dragged it into my heated shop.
got it running after major cleaning of the carb. got the brakes tuned up, but it needs new shoes.

Anyone have some suggestions of where to buy some shoes? I have seen some in australia's ebay. but would like to find some closer.

I intend to take the front springs off and getting them re-arched. also need to re-attach the passenger seat. other then that it is in pretty good shape. just some rust where someone screwed on some fender flares. it smokes a little, but I think it will get better with time, as it has sat for at least ten years.

need to try to find some narrow rims and narrower tires, so they stay back in the fenders

Do yourself a favour and convert the front to disc brakes off an SJ410. All you have to do is seperate the inner shafts off the LJ and swap the whole assembly off the SJ onto the LJ using the LJ inner shafts. For the rear, I would either do a disc conversion off a Sam or Kick. It will only require a little fab work.

Do you have any pics of the LJ?

I can take some pictures of it up on blocks in the shop I just got the transfer case into it tonight but want to tap out all the threads on the diffs where the universals bolt on.. tried to bolt them up but I am afraid that they will definatly break when I try to remove them down the road.. I may as well spend an extra half hour and do it right.
I can take some pictures tomorrow night, ask my wife to download them to the puter.
I think it is good shape considering it came off of a reserve.
tracking down anyting suzuki in manitoba is very difficult. sj410 well I will keep looking.
I really don't intend to drive it or register it by any means. Just thought I should get at some of my 13 4x4 trucks.. My only suzuki. 4 land crusiers and 5 land rovers, etc.
I was thinking about building a rock crawler, and brought it in to check it out.. I am keeping my eyes open for a samurai, but I cannot find anytihng at a reasonable price. either rusted right out for 2k (plus tracker that was in an accident) or an 89 with spring over for 3K..
I think I will just end up using my bj42 spring over.:jam:

Well I was able to get some pictures this last weekend.. I now know that the clutch is slipping. I will have to check the linkages, but well I started the next project.

I do not think that I have enough post to allow me to post pictures.. someone send me an email and I can forward them to you.

Yes I do have a bunch of those old landrovers. a series one, 80",
a series 2, 109" , a series 2a 88" with a truck cap (use to be my daily driver) , and another 109 tropical for a parts truck. also a 96 discovery.. with about 100 000 km. All are gas jobbies. and all my land cruisers are diesel. One advantage of the landrovers is lack of rust. at least as far as bodies go.

Oh man, the old landys get my sub-cockle area all warm and steamy.

I know where an old S1 80" is sitting and buddy will not sell it. Sitting for at least 18 years....sigh

I know,or use to know of one for sale in the dryden area of ontario.
I would guess it would be in decent shape as far as rust goes. I think the guy wanted 800 dollars for it. but I did not have the drive to take a car hauler through those roads to pursue it.
Late last summer a customer also told me about a landrover diesel.. not sure if it was a series two or three. 88" or 109" I guess someone he works with has it, and is willing to sell it.
