What should a set of 85' yota axles be worth? front axle- rebuilt knuckle to knuckle, chromoly shafts, spooled.
Rear- rebuilt end to end, lockrite locked.
any input would be great. thanks.

Depends but if its all new should break down like this, these are all brand new parts excluding labour
Rear
Rebuild kit $85ish per side
Locker about $350 ish
you didnt say anything about a gear change but if you want to rebuild the diff and leave the stock gears add $120ish
Front
Rebuild kit $175ish for the knucle rebuild kit and wheel bearings
Spool $150ish (in the front really?)
Axles Dirty 30's are $600ish for the pair (thats inners and outers)
you didnt say anything about a gear change but if you want to rebuild the diff and leave the stock gears add $120ish
Labour? I would charge a full day to do this job but they would be painted blah blah blah when I am done. If you wanted the diff done it would be more time
Why whats up?

Thanks for the info, I own these axles with the above done to them I was looking see what they would be worth if I were to sell them, The guy I got them from was running them in a cj with a 327v8 so he built them to be tough. I am on the fence about if I want to use them for my next project or not. I see these axles in stock form go through the "for sale" add at $400-$600 range. My axles are complete end to end with brakes and all and are also from alberta so they are virtually rust free. Any ideas on what there worth?

Used huh? they are worth what people will pay for em. Remember once used the value disappears and you will take it in the pooper.
I would say $1500 for the pair tops. You may get more if you dissasemble and take pics to proove the parts inside are what you say they are. There are lots of guys that bought built axkes and when they break and get opened up its all stock inside.
Your problem is to build crazy Toyota axles you are going to spend the same amount to buy a set of Unimog axles or Dana 60's or whatever. To be honest, if i was going to spend the money I would get Unimog axles...no Toy axle no matter what is done is as strong or has the cool factor of Unimog axles

The way I see it, if parts are used for wheeling, they are worth half of what they cost new. You just never know the abuse they took. A 327 will definately abuse the ring and pinion, so a big minus in my mind.
As far as rebuilt, how long ago? I see these as diffs that don't need new bearings. Nice to have but no guarantee you won't have an issues.
Anywhere between $1000 and $1300 is reasonable for those diffs.
Unfortunately for you, it's just too easy to find a dana 60/14 bolt combo for around a grand these days. When I sold my built toy diffs, I found it easier to part them out. Worked well for me and I probably made more money doing it that way.

Ya good points, i was going to pull them apart regardless before I put them in my project so maybe its not a bad idea to do it and take pictures and what not. Thanks.

You selling this front axle?
If you part it out, I`d be interested in the axles and birfs and locker.

When I bought my Toy axles I payed $250 for front and rear axles and they were stock and complete... end to end with brakes and everything.
These guys askin $4-600 are asking wayyyyyy too much for something that will most likely need to be torn down and rebuilt.

yah, I've bought quite a few in my time and the most I've ever paid was $300 for a mint set with full trusses...

i have always got $300-400 for 85 front and ifs rear . the hundred was determined by the gear ratio. the more desireable the gear ratio the more money. i bought an 85 front axle with a e locker and longfields 410 v6gears , ifs rear for $1000. they had good front brakes and no rear brakes at a $1000 i i was getting a smoking deal . just the e locker goes for $600. i have put over $1200 in to them the last set of longfield were $730 shipped to my door .the lockright is $330 shipped as for the set you are tring to sell not a big deal just switch the third members put the spool in the rear , the lockrite in the front, a front rebuild kit is $85.00 with no wheel bearings so with a little bit of work you would have an awsome pair of axles.
