is anybody allowd to ask questions after a post is made by a vendor or are those paying members only alllowd?
I go to ask a question to the vendor and im denied. i don't think it's fair to load up his pm box for a question about his ad.

Vendors have massive quota's on their pm box just for this reason.
Only vendors can post in the Vendors Forum....
it's up to them to add information to their posts based on any q's they mite get via pm's.

How do they keep thier items that they are promoting fresh and up to the top of the unread lists?
seems this way the vendor will post his sale and it gets bumped off a day later with all the other new posts.
it would suck when 30 people pm the vendor asking the one question especially if it is obvious.
in my case it is a tecnicality of saving 10%. The post said a group buy of 10 people not ten sets. if i only one to buy one set of 5.29 gears or one set of a bearing kit and not two ( front and rear) that drastically reduces his buying power with his supplier in half and may not be able to support a 10% discount on ten pieces but can on twenty...

to be more specific...
"1) This forum is for Vendors to post items/deals/discounts for sale. "
the way Vbulletin works, when there is a new post, it will appear in the new posts section for every user till they mark it as read or 100 days pass. This is done on an individual user basis. As long as a user logs into their account once in that 100 day period, the post will be there in the new posts lists.
if there are 100 other new posts made after the vendors initial post, then that post will be 101 on the list... just like it is on the rest of the forum and just like it is on other sites like kijiji or craigs.
There is no way to keep their posts as unread forever not to mention imagine the new posts lists after a few months of that....
it is up to the vendor to keep their ads fresh via BTT posts or new posts just like in the rest of the world.
As far as 30 ppl asking the same q, again, its up to the vendor to make changes, corrections or additions to their threads including answering obvious questions. And by doing so, they can keep their ads fresh at the same time.
Vendors Forum is not a discussion forum... there are enough forums for that. It is specifically designed to give vendors a place to advertise in a clean format.

i understand the rules.
It just seems that the vendors section is like a one way phone call conversation, but in order to get a respnse i have to send em an e-mail or another way of communication, instead of a valid relevant question about the vendors product.
isn't the job of a moderator to mointor the off topic and rule breaking of any section of the site? if a post gets off topic it would be monitered? its just a shame that a vendors post would get read once and to the bottom of the barrel it goes. that would be an awful pain in the "tire" for the vendor to have to keep refreshing all of his posts.
oh well.
just my opinion. im still too lazy to change my user title! lmao.

Then Vendors section is new and as such im sure there will be changes in the future as it grows but for now, this is the way it is, just like any other form of advertising - its 1 way.
the advantage here is that the vendor has the opportunity to edit/add to their ads as they see fit without extra costs.
