Not a good pic but you get the point, very short for clearance, very sturdy (3/16 wall tube) and simple. With a reciever... I may change it tho, not that I dont like it but I'm mounting the 8274 soon.

The bumper on my SWB zook. The top hook is priceless for ease of dropping a sling onto.

Uncle Dons bumper. I like the light protectors, theyre made from long ass u-bolts, very sturdy. Reciever in the x-member and holes in the bushbar for a towbar. To mount the lights he just welded a piece of 2" x 1/4" flatbar to the bushbar plates.

Last but not least this is a bumper I had in the stockpile. I got the boy cleaning it up and painting it. Basic design. One peice of muffler pipe bent at the muffler shop for a hoop, then a few smaller pieces added to brace it. Notice the light mount in the last pic. Thats all I got for bumpers at my disposal. Like I said, Im about to redesign mine for the 8274 but not started yet (finishing the tcase first :D ) Hope these help.

here a bad shot of my front bumper. I made it out of 2" square with 3/16" wall.
she removes un wanted trees quite well and deflect saplings away from the tires nicely. Total cost was $35 or $40. The rear is much heavier at 2x4 1/4 wall. but the rear end doesn't have to carry a big heavy 8274 around either. :D

actually it is. it's 1.25" 1/4" wall tube. boxed on the diagnal on three sides with 2"x1/4" steel plate. I hate Z-bars too so I made this one stupid strong so I could get out that weekend. That weekend turned into this summer :D . I just got my toyota axles and I'll be building a cross over.
P.S. I thought this thread was about bumpers. :thefinger j.k.

i'm designing samurai bumpers to sell, the bumper on my sammy is long ripped off, also gone is the original mounting holes. are the mounting holes directly in the center of the frame, so the distance between them is center to center of the frame? also, how far back from the front end of the frame is the center of the holes. Is there just two mount holes on top, 1 on each frame rail, or more holes on the side of the frame?, i don't even remember that.

I built this one for my Sammy, it is 1-1/2' X10" tube with a welded on push bar and houses a warn 8000 winch, it is a bolt on type bumper, and will pretty much push over anything. this was when my sammy was red.
