Alright, I went wheeling yesterday all day long, burnt almost a full tank. Just as I am pulling out of the bush and onto the road, my Sidekick stalls, just as if I had turned the key off. I come to a stop, turn the key and boom it restarts, runs perfectly for 2 minutes, and does the same thing again, just stalls, not even a backfire, it does not even stumble, just dies. And well it did this over for about 6 times, and now it will no longer start at all.

Seems like a strange problem... My battery is fine, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, is all good.

The only thing that is old is my coil... I was going to start there.

Whenever it ran, it ran PERFECT, lots of power, it ran real well, then boom nothing... There was no in between, either it ran perfect, or it does not run at all, like a killswitch.

Any suggestions?

i had a simmilar problem with my 91 kick daily driver.
It seemed every time it rained it would stall at random times. sometime run for a few minutes then stall again. It would start back up with some cranking.
turned out to be the electrical connections to the fuel pump at the top of the tank.

You might have to cut the plug out and wire it direct :bang:

I found the problem, it's the sending unit... a small red wire that leads into it tore off... I held it on with my hand, and my buddy can start the truck no problem, soon as I let it go, stalls.... Now it looks like I won't have any room to re-solder it, so I guess I am fuct.

Anyone got a sending unit kicking around?

No you aren't this is what i did ...remove the sending unit drill a hole in the top of it ...you determin the size this way ...find a small piece of fuel/vacuum line that a wire 16ga?will fit snuggly in side . drill the slightly smaller than the rubber line is force the line in the hole then pull the wire though tie a knot in the wire so it wount pull out on you hook the wire to the pump re install the unit you then could put some seal all on it to be on the safe side it worked for me good luck
