Has anyone taken a turbo from the sprint and put it in the sidekick/tracker? Are the engines from the sprint close to the 1.6L??

Iwould think that you would have to build a header and mount a turbo flange to it somehow as the turbo of the Sprint is on a 3 cylinder exh manifold! Good luck! :)

From what i have heard on this board, turbo and wheeling and cold water = ting, ting, ting, crack, bang, boom, no good no more.

Two major disadvantages to having a turbo.

One: Sucking any amount of sand, grit, or dirty water into the unit will cause major damage to the compressor wheel, and likely score the housing beyond repair.

Two: Drowing the engine bay in a creek with a hot turbo turbine housing will cause the housing to crack. In some cases I've even seen them split far enough apart to stick a screwdrier through the hole. :P

The only real advantage though is the torque a well sized turbo can add. On my Honda it brought power from 108hp and 90ft lbs. to 205hp and 165ftlbs. God love boost. :jam:
