Hi, I know this has been asked before and is possible with a lot of work, but I can only find posts on doing it between same year trackers/kicks. I have a 1991 Sidekick and have found a 1997 tracker LSi with a good 16v donor engine and it also has air cond. that I would love to add while doing the swap. Does anyone know if the swap can be done, or is it even worth it? any details would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Im not sure what an LSi is but simple answer to ur q, yes, the swap can be done. Wiring will be ur bigest concern, there are several options available to u depending on how much u can do urself and how much u wanna spend?

I believe the Tracker LSi is just the top of the line Geo model, Kind of like the Suzuki JLX model.
I have quite a bit of knowledge of wiring and stuff like that, but I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to be impossible once I get way into it and realize I can't do it because something changed from 91 to 97.

do you have the whole donnor turck.
Why not just swap the complete harness, body stuff and all.

thats how I did mine. U'll need the instrument cluster from donor truck if u want that display. otherwise u have to mate a few things from sammy to kick.. heres a short list..
ignition (kick uses 5-7 wires, sammy uses 4)
wiper control
runnign lights
head lights
turn signals/hazard
horn
heater controls
brake and revers lights
4wd and tranny overdrive switches
fuel guage and pump
dome light
door switches
radio
most of the wires are the same colour so its a matter of cutting and splicing. If u got schematics for both and know how to read em, its a very doable task.
otherwise u can get a 16v harness modified to almost plug completely into ur sammy harness and run dual harnesses with minor splcing but that costs $$.

Will the 8v fuel pump be OK or will I need to drop the fuel tank and swap a 16v fuel pump ?
Ive seen many answer to that question. Some say yes some say no.. I'd like to have an answer from someone who have done it ;)
thanks!

I just checked..
The PSI are all close to each other:
kick 8v = 34.1 to 39.8
Kick 16v = 35.6 to 42.7
So the PSI look like they are compatible, mabe the GPH are different ?
I cant find that info :( hehe
