View Full Version : anyone tried the mid-range cams for 1.6L 8V?

I have the 1.6L 8V engine from a '89 Kick in my Sammy. Has anyone tried the mid-range cams for this engine. :gsmo: Some of the manufacturers even say that you can use aftermarket cams from the 1.3L if you use the 1.3L distributor.
I really appreciate the info!

I have heard of pepole getting custum ground cams from Colt in B.C. and having great results

I;ve talked to this guy a few times... seems to know his shit. havnt bought nuting from him yet but I get a good vibe from him...

He'll even grind a 16 valve cam.. torque of performace... ur choice.

Lots of people will regrind a cam. It's a very common practice, look around your area.

lots of ppl will do the 8v cam grind. I have yet to find anyone in TO that will do a 16v. That guy in BC is the only one i found so far.

Colt cams are awesome for the sammy 1.3 . Installed the hi torque grind and what a difference. Talk to Jeff [the owner] hes a good guy to deal with !
