I know this is premature, but figured I would get the ball rolling and ask a few questions. I was thinking about taking it to the next level and wanted some imput.
1/ what do you guys think about upping the cost and covering meals? Less for you to bring and take care of.
2/ t-shirts, hats, windshield banners? who would buy them?
3/ video footage. Who would pay 20.00 for a professional video?
3/ up the fee for better facilities with showers and tiolets?
4/ leave it the F#$K alone, we like it the way it is :D

I'd vote no on this one
2/ t-shirts, hats, windshield banners? who would buy them?
T-shirts and stickers!! YESSSSS
3/ video footage. Who would pay 20.00 for a professional video?
Hell yeah!!
3/ up the fee for better facilities with showers and tiolets?
port o potty would be nice, but we're used to roughing it
4/ leave it the F#$K alone, we like it the way it is
This is a good idea too, but the bigger it gets, the harder it will be to manage w/o at least the shower and toilet facilities.

A little idea about the meals... what if you contracted out concession rights to a vendor, someone with a coffee-truck type set up that would agree to be open during breakfast/dinner at the campsite, and offer to-go lunches for the trail?
The option would be available to those who didn't bring food or want to cook, and keep the price low for those who would rather bring their own grub.

I've always been game for the two tear system. Its one reason I hate to pay big dollars at some US venues..........The food sucks!!!
Just tossing ideas, and getting feedback. Keep them coming.

Cooking is the fun part about camping, it separates the cooks from the nukers....
The only thing I would like to see at any camping out kind of event is a shower and a crapper...
Call me weird but the women get a wee bit rank (and so do I ) after the first night or so, and I NEED a place to dump and read a magazine or something.....I hate crapping in the woods.

We always have two outhouses set up. We have made Knock down Shitters , so we just need to dig a big enough hole this year.
As far as showers. We are two minutes from Norcan lake. Water is a little nipply but it does the job. If I have time to install hot water on the Bus, I will charge the ladies nothing as long as I can wash thier backs :yike
I'm going to Hell!!!!

I'd buy the stuff related to suzican and zookpower, as far as the porto poties I cant say since I dont know how long the runs are. Being in other clubs and havin paid up to $50.00 for registering which includes a lunch (mainly hot dogs) which we didn't think was worth it. If we bring something (like a potluck) we'd be set the whole weekend.
my $00.00000001 cent worth

i like the low fee. I do think it could go up a bit, but not too high.
1/ what do you guys think about upping the cost and covering meals? Less for you to bring and take care of.
I like the food vendor idea. you could have the option to buy meals in advance and include it with the regestration. And leave those who want to cook to do there own thing.
2/ t-shirts, hats, windshield banners? who would buy them?
I would buy these.
3/ video footage. Who would pay 20.00 for a professional video?
i might buy one of these.
3/ up the fee for better facilities with showers and tiolets?
if attendance keeps going up then possibly move this to a camping facility, as opposed to crown land. This way we are sure to get enough space. It would also provide toilets and shower facilities. Personaly i dont mind camping on crown land.
this would have to be included in the fee's up might be well worth it.
4/ leave it the F#$K alone, we like it the way it is

The thing I dont like bout the food vendor is if we are late, do we miss our meal ? I kinda like the come and go, eat when we wanna eat idea. Another problem is if you charge for food people are gonna get sticky on it. "I paid for my burger and I want my fukn burger and I dont care what time it is" I could see some of this goin on. Just causin a headache as far as Im concerned. Let people bring there own food. Gonna have to bring food for the trail run anyways. Plus zook owners are fawkin cheap so the less entry fee the better for most.
Moving this to a campground could be a real mess and maybe ruin the whole event. Campgrounds like to regulate the hours of when you come and go and as far as space goes, 100 trucks takes up alot of space. Us 4x4 fanatics arent very well liked to begin with, never mind putting 100 trucks together in a campground with the typical family setting tryin to have a quiet weekend. Personally I think that just wont go over to well. Porta potties can be dropped off and picked up at the end of the weekend, so charge a few extra bucks to cover the cost of the toilets. Beauty of this is we come we stay and when we go, we basically take our shit with us, lol. Mudlite is right, the lake is right there for gettin cleaned up, if you cant handle roughin it for a weekend, go stay in a motel. Even though there was only 35 trucks or whatever last year I didnt hear ANY complaints from ANYONE. Id hate to see it go commercial and be regulated thru the ass.

This is all great info. Prety much as I expected, but I have to ask the questions. I put this on for you guys, so I want you all to get the most out of it. I may well concider the port O poty for next year, as I hate digging those fawking holes !!!!!!!!
I'm getting too old to dig holes for other peoples shit :-)
who wants to volonteer? I'll make it worth your while :bo:
As far as Shirts and hats, maybe we will have to have an art contest to come up with a logo.
I'm for the shirts and good quality hats, but they will have to be pre paid for in advance.
Video would be good quality too. Gaby has lots of experience doing the video.
Keep it coming. I think we are bang on about the camping. Keep it simple.

I agree to all of what mudlite says. Hats and t-shirts i'll buy as well as stickers. I would love someone to do a professional video. (Remember the one that i sent you last year Mudlite)
I do not care how much you prepare i think that it it hard keeping 3 almost 4 days of food cool and unspoiled in a cooler while having a variety of meals. That is 9-12 full meals that we have to prepare. It gets a little hard, espically with the nearest store 20 mins drive away. I remember last year there was so much going on that we never had 20 seconds of downtime.
I would love to have shower facilities but i thought that the lake was very refreshing. No problems there.

As for the toilet seat, I saw one advertised that folded down from your bumper, with a neat toilet paper roll holding thing, and then also, the toilet had a baggy system that you could fill and zip shut to carry to a garbage can. neat idea, although not sure I want to carry the crap with me afterwards....

1/ what do you guys think about upping the cost and covering meals? Less for you to bring and take care of.
from my experience i'd suggest running your own barbaque for dinner ownly, IF you could get the help. also the suggestion of having a chip truck wouldn't work as there would not be enough traffic all day to make it worth the venders effort.
2/ t-shirts, hats, windshield banners? who would buy them?
love to have a t-shirt!!!!!!!!
3/ video footage. Who would pay 20.00 for a professional video?
its always cool to see how other people do the trails or how hte other groups make out....you can't be everywhere at once...the video would help here.
4/ up the fee for better facilities with showers and tiolets?
better toliets would be nice. porta potties don't over flow and you don't need to dig a hole in a rock hard base for the temporary shitters....as far as the showers go, a quick dip in the lake is fine with me. besides you never know maybe you will make a new friend there...hi mya & brian
5/ leave it the F#$K alone, we like it the way it is
the mind always works to improve things...even small changes keeps bringing people back:)
