Mudball
August 10th, 2004, 10:03 PM
So for the maiden voyage of Mudball, I took her out to the Quinn with Mike S. (Szabotage)
I had to take the bypass at the 2-step (Half on, half off the rock). I blame mike for slicking up the rock, with all that mud! :boot: I have yet to make a run up and down pinion pass... But plan on making an attempt very soon. All in all it was a great day, and I'm really impressed with what my little zuk could do. :)
Only thing that went wrong was I snapped off my over-leaf steering system. The 4 bolts on the top of the hub were broken clean off, and the steering pinion cap thinger had nothing holding it down. :bang:
I got home by bending the upper steering arm, and connecting it back to the lower draglink at the balljoint. It worked out really well, and got me home. I had to stop every km or so to bang the hub back together with a hammer... But it wasn't too bad.
If anyone wants to come up to the calalbogie area this weekend, I think Mike and I are going to be getting out on a few more trails. :D Gimme a shout.
