Recently the interior door handle assembly broke the "finger" that holds the assembly to the door frame, allowing the handle assembly to slightly pull away from the door each time it was opened. When I removed the screw the holds the handle assembly and pulled it away from the door, I noticed a plastic "finger" that holds the assembly to the door had broken. In fact both doors had the same problem. I drilled a small hole at the front of the door assembly and using a small automotive interior mounting screw, resolving the problem. I had to clip the end of the screw to make the threaded portion about 3/16" so the screw would not be in the way of the window itself when screwed in. The finished job hides the screw head behind the open end of the door handle.
