My sidekick 91 is getting gas all the way to the throtle body but the injecter is leaving the chamber dry. Whats more likely, the injecter not working or is it more likely the computer not telling the injecter not to pump. Any simple way to tell? I think I have an injecter coming but someone else told me its more likely the computer. Also he said I can't use a pre 91 computer is that right? thanks for the info.

the pre 91 efi is different. the computer is tied into the dist. the pre 91 gets its engine speed signal from the coil.....like a tach. I have the tracker fsm for 91 if you need some info.
I think you can check the injector with a 12v source. have you checked the fuel pressure?
Also i did not get to the post office this week......very busy. I'll get it in the mail monday.

Ya steve the fuel pressures great. If i move the injecter it blasts all over. If I fill the throtle body with gas it will run for a couple seconds.

Change the injector first. When you get to the 6 wire plug that connects the TPS to the Injector just stick a small screwdriver into the plug and slide the tab down and pull only the wires that go to the injector and replace ( remember where they go) with the new injector. If that does not work lemme know what year( 91 sidekick) auto or 5 speed and i probally have an ecm that will work for you.
Any questions lemme know as i can probally talk you through it on the phone. When i did my first motor swap it took Depot and i ten minutes to diag that the injector was bad and another 15 to swap it out and fire it up,which sounds like what you are going through.
If you have some time and wanna screw with the old injector while you wait for the new one i suggest taking it out and pushing the little pin on the bottom of it to "free" it up as it may be stuck from sitting like mine was. It is worth a shot as you know it isn't working and you have another coming anyway.
