Hi all , I’m new here and just wanted to say hello. i have an old SJ410 which I have built up from bits of other car. it has a stromberg carb from an old triumph, seats from an old Renault 12TL and part of a 413 body. all on a 410 chassis. I started of running super swamper tyres but I got stuck all the time because of the tiny engine. 2 tractor tyres fixed that. it goes anywhere

The best bit was the carb basically bolted straight on. I used a stromberg carb because they use them in range rovers and I have never seen a range rover flood on an angle. My old carb which was a stock Suzuki one always flooded on angles, on the flat and when ever it felt like it and I paid $200 to have it rebuilt!!!! Another good thing about the stromberg carb is it makes the engine run so well. I can start the enging from cold and it will run like I have been driving round for hours. No choke needed just start up and drive away. My old carb wouldn't let the engine idle unless I had driven down the road to warm it up. Even with the choke on it wouldn't idle!! (splutter, splutter, cough, black smoke, rattle, rattle, flooded)

Thats absolutly awesome! Now i wish i had a 1.0 to put one of these SU1 carbs on it!!, as a footnote they also used them in MGB and jags too, parts are readily available and quite cheap for them, strange but i have them on my volvo penta motor in my boat and they work just great.

If u could grab me a pic of the carb on the truck i'd really like to see it.
