sidekick timing how to ?

I need to check my timing, and can't remember where it is that I stick the wire for bypass so that my computer doesn't compensate when I try to fix my timing.

Please let me know if you know :)

92 sidekick with the 1.6L 8V.

If you do not backfire when you bounce off the rev limiter than your timing is correct. Thats what i have learned from depots truck.
