Ive been considering the same setup for my truck, the only thing i can foresee is you would have to have one bomb proof mount for the box. The other thing is how it sits, frame extensions would be of great benefit, with a jep tie rod on one side and zuk on the other.
What thoughts have you had on it??

But they've been used with great success, good box to do a hydro-assist with.

The Saginaw boxes are a LOT easier to find around here. I would be real interested to see how this works for you. I have been considering it for my tracker. If my stock PS doesn't work good enough. :)

I was going to use a XJ box though because I believe the Pitman arm has more drop to it. (don't know that for a fact though) That and I know where alot more of them are :D

I know for a fact that, a Xj box has more drop than a Yj box. it's a 2 or 3" drop difference.I have a Xj. :D
I would love a power steer set up.It would make a lincoln locker front end. almost turnable with swampers.
And what belt size would you use?

Al: if you are going to go Saginaw, you have to go Hydro Assist!!!! Even if you can't do the full mod, at least drill the box and cap the ports. Hydro assist ranks up there with your first locker. YJ boxes are a tone better than kick or tracker boxes. The seals don't hold up to offroading and will leak as mentioned.

I've been using the kick box for 2 years now, and it's been leeking for 2 years!!! Now I can't even keep any fluids in there more that 1 hour at a time

so what all would you need to go to a xj or yj power steering set up besides the box itself?

Suzuki is also aware of this problem and sell rebuild kits for these things. About $50.00 and it is simple to do. I did one one my 1993 tracker that i had and 50,000kms later it will still dry when i saw the truck come back to another owners hands.
What do you expect from a pump that is 12-14 years old and then you make it work with bigger tires. Whne my pump starts to leak i'll rebuild it.

I'm using a Saginaw TC pump from a 05 Durango :D (got it for nothin' with a broken pully....NEW) It has the res built onto the side of it. Simalar to the XJ pump. It'll bolt on with a Spidertrax bracket(or the one I'm gonna build) and a Spidertrax pulley. Custom hoses and you are golden

Fall asleep at the wheel?!?

Are the kits only for the pump or do they include the seals for the box?

Sorry Suzicrazy, you should have quoted me in the earlier post. Umm the dealer sells the kit but never really tried any other source, and it is just to rebuild the pump. From what i hear the whole box has to come apart to change the seals on the box and i'm not aware of a kit to rebuild one so you may have to buy them separatly.
Good thing to try on a slow friday night. Pull apart a stock spare sidekick box and see what makes it tick.
