I am planning very shortly to get my hands on a service manual for this, but I was wondering if someone could tell me what this error code is for the engine light. ( 1 flash, 1 sec pause followed by 2 quick flashes). My kick died after it backed out of the driveway. Any assistance is appreciated.

check to see if you have fuel pressure with the ignition on. sounds like a pump problem.

Turn the key ahead and listen for a "click" ( but not starting it)under the dash by the speaker. It could be the fuel pump relay.
If you get the click try, (again not starting) and listen carefully to the rear of the truck and see if you hear a buzzing/whining sound coming from the tank. This would be your 5-8 second prime from the fuel pump, after the alotted time it is supposed to shut off so don't be alarmed.
If there is no click, take the speaker out on the drivers side and you should see a one relay with two connectors in it ( or maybe two separate relays with one connector for each) These sit directly on top of the ECM.
If you do not hear the fuel pump should i explain further? It would be easier to drop the whole tank and replace it with a used one from someone on the board or buy one locally from someone, butit'll probally be cheaper from someone here. It is a real pain to drill out the rusty phillips head screws that hold the fuel pump to the top of the tank. Some people have messed with it and have had success but i personally won't touch it.
Keep us in touch after you try these simple tests and give us a little more info on what else you have done and we will get it figured out.

I figured out the problem...Turns out that my 1 month old distributor cap from crappy tire was just that...Crap! I put on a new cap and it fired up immediately.
