just a little info that might help some one out ...not only on kicks but any other beast that u may running or working on ....i put it here because it happend to me with a kick ....so here it goes ...i was out in my shop on thurs nite ...doing some moon lighting ( got to buy goodies for my kick ) any ways i come in the house and a guy i know that runs a kick called me ...his kick won't start he ask me when i could look at it.. the sooner the better ..great i thought i still got one in the shop and another comeing fri night ( i want to werk on my kick )i tell him to tow it out . so i come home fri after werk and it is the yard . by the way it is -25 and every thing is covered in snow . i get the first truck done then the other one (nothing wrong with it ...good )so me and johnny 5's brother push the kick into my shop ....first thing check the fuses ..yep fuse is blowen this is an easy fix ...still no go ..no fuel to the throtle body checked the fuse yip it is good ...used the spare fuse that was in the holder . so i pull the left rear tail light and check for power no power ( already cut the plug in out last winter ) check the fuse and it is still good so i look at the main fuses under the hood on the right side they r all good ..then i change the puter still nothing great ...i'm standing at the front of the kick and noticed the wheel wells are shot then i look at the fuse block again layed my hand on the wires coming out of it and they fell off now i found the prob ..run a jumper from them to the batt. reached in hit the key nothing still wont start.. GREAT time to get the book out checked the main relay yip it got power what the fuk is going on... crossed the fuel pump relay yip the pump runs and there is fuel ...sounds like puter tryed it in my kick yip it werks ...checked the fire ...no fire ..Great some thing in the dist is fuked up ...checked the fuse again and it is still good .. then i noticed that when i checked the fuse the test light was brighter than when i checked the power to main relay ...so then i ran a wire from the batt. to the main relay ..she fired rite up ...thank god ..so then i looked at the fsm and the big white and green wire ran more than that relay and every thing else was werking ( this one of the wires that came from under the hood fuse block ).. so the next step was to pull the fuse pannle down ( the one under the dash) and see if i could see any thing there but first it was time to run to Tims for a coffee ( which i am now drinking )...so on the way home i'm thinking about this friggin kick then the light came on .i get in the shop pull the fuse out and stick a cotter pin in it's place BOOM she fires up ....look at the fuse and it is corroded up causing a poor connection and this fuse only runs the main relay .... that fuse prob. been there since 92 and over time the contacts must of corroded . I know i learned some thing to nite and i hope this helps some one else ..and i hate wiring ..now i can werk on my kick this week end..... welding is much more fun ....l8r
