Just wondering what you guys do when you lift your kicks and have the good articulation. Are you able to use the stock drive shafts? They are slip yoke so I'm thinking when your axle drops out of the picture the shafts may actually slip out of the t-case. Does that ever happen? or do you get shafts made? I'm currently putting together a sami with 1.6l and auto and kick rear end. So I was figuring on using the kick shaft in the rear. I was just wondering if the slip yoke will work or if I'll need to put a slip shaft in the middle of the shaft also. Also wondering if the front kick shaft will bolt to the sami front diff. I guess I could walk my lazy ass out to the shop and see the answer to that one in about 22 seconds so just an answer to the slip yoke question would be great.

Come on someone tell me what shafts their using out of a sidekick/tracker t-case and how they work.

one of my trackers has 31's with original everything with a 5" suspension lift in the back and 3"+ in the front. The driveshfts never popped out but i don't think it was any articulation champ though, everything was maxed out.
also, the driveshafts will bolt right up to 88.5+ sammy diffs, 85-88 you simply need clamp the driveshaft to the diff and drill the flange.
one thing though, are you going to use the sidekick transfer case also?, or a 2wd sidekick tranny to your sammy t-case? If your going with option 2 the slip yoke will only be between the tranny and sammy t-case and will never slip out, stock sammy driveshafts from t-case out.

I know that the heep guys have this problem and to solve it they have a slip yoke eliminator kit, I'm not sure if there's one for the kick but I can't see it being too hard. That way you can run sammi drive shafts with the longer slip instead of the short kick ones. I'll keep ya posted if I see anything on the subject

I think its time to revisit this questions as the engine and tracker trani and t-case are almost in. At this point I'm not double casing it.I'm wondering the best way to use a kick case and not have to worry about the shafts slipping out. Any thoughts on putting a slip shaft into the middle of the driveshaft? would that help it from sliding out of the case? I guess worst case is I carry gear oil with me incase on drops out.

Anymore thoughts here?

Could a slip shaft eliminater kit be made?

no such luck on a kit like that for a tracker. but putting an extra slip yoke in the middle of the shaft...what??,i dont get that, still scratching my head..i never had a tracker shaft slip out even when it was so twisted the spring could be yanked out by hand,if you are concerned put a drive shaft spacer at the rear end of the shaft,i have a couple out in the garage in varying thicknesses if you need, later bill:)

I don't need spacers I've got to have the shafts lenghtened anyway so I was thinking of having the guy weld in a slip type spline shaft just like that samurai shafts have in them. I can't just add a spacer I've moved my rear axle back about 6". The tracker t-case is going in a sami. Hopefully it will just stay in.
