well i finally got my daily driver tracker working well enough and i had some time to work on the offroad beast - 1993 8 valve. the truck hasn't idled and worked like shit for quite awhile so i picked up a whole new throttle body unit for it. changed the whole thing and it didn't make any difference! I was getting ready to swap out the gas tank when i remembered that i also had a pocketful of sensors to try, what the hell. well the first one i changed fixed the problem. i don't know what it's called but here's a pic of it in case anyone else is having similiar gas probs, maybe this doohickey is a common failure. still not out of the woods yet though, re-using the old gasket under the throttle body has caused leakage and bogging of truck under load -doh! probably sucking in air, had this happen on sammy carb before. well at least it idles.

i belive that is the coolant temp sensor.
makes sence if the computer does not know how hot/or cold the engine is then it would idle like crap.
