OK, Just thought I would give a quick report on putting the Grand Vitara rear springs into the 2 Door Sidekick/Tracker
Went to the junk yard and picked up some springs from a wrecked '99 Grand Vitara and down to Canadian Tire for some new shocks ('99 Grand Vitara). Total cost with taxes $150CAD :( Ouch, a little expensive for my cheap-ass. The springs looked to be about 1" longer and measured a little bigger wire diameter.
Removed wheels, shocks (some torching of the nuts was required), lowered the axle, removed old springs. Rammed the grand vitara springs into place, replaced the shocks, and wheels. 1 hour max.
Results: 2 full inches of lift in the rear :) (as measured by the inside corner of the bumper). Ride quality is still pretty good (for a lifted sidekick), but I'm sure the new shocks helped that out a bit. Here is a before and after comparison pic...
