Hi everyone,
I have pulled the steel body off my sj410 and it will be replaced with a fibreglass VW dune buggy body. I have the body sitting where it will be mounted but when I turn the steering wheel the wheels hit the inner fender before the steering wheel stops. I was thinking about doing a spring over for vertical clearance. I was wondering if it would be safe to flip the rims around. It might give me about 1". Any thoughts?

Ya can't, the shape of the rim won't let you. It will hit the caliper or drum

I always thought the older SJ rims were flat????? Some people just drill a hole for the valve stem on the backside n weld up the other side n flip it around. As for your specific rims, double check the fitment......but of course ive been wrong b4.

410's never had the tapers on the rims, and Zookvet told me they used to swap em over for the wider stance. it will work.

I ran my rims flipped on my sami for 2 years. Yeah they don't sit flat againt the drum, I just cranked em down. No problems with the front end at all. I drove it on the Hwt too, not the slightest shake. Just check yer nuts often.

he won't have to worry they are 410 rims and they have no taper for the lugnuts.

The lug holes have a taper on both sides.
