Could I still drive it on the road with a welded diff??

I don't care at all about tire wear...only reliability...I don't wanna be late for a test..or whatever on my way to school.

If so, I might be interested.

Let me know

Yeah you can and you even get lots of looks from people at the Canadian tire parking lot when you turn around.

HAHA,

The people there are already immune to my terrible driving habbits... So a bit more burning rubber won't get any more extra attention. LMAO

You may have yo be a little more on the ball when it comes to running a welded rear on the road as well. All the stress you are putting through your tires also goes through your axles. All of this stress may cause the splines on the axle over time to twist and razor the edges. No big deal really cause everyone knows where to get spare kik axles. Just keep your eye on them and once a year when you sevice your bearings check them. ( you are servicing your rear bearings once a year right????) All the mud and shit that we go through you should. Or suffer the trials like your buddy DXRAY and go through all the hassle of changing a smoked bearing:yike :bang:

Yeah, ummm, sure I knew to service those bearings...yeah.

Aren"t they sealed bearings that can"t be serviced...that's what I thought...

I gotta get me a manual and see how it"s done.

Thanks.

Well thats what they say, but........

Pull the axle and stand it on a bench. Pull the rubber seal off the face of the bearing and repack the bearing. Replace the seal on the bearing and off you go. If its a steel seal, pry it open and use a grease gun with a needle fitting and inject the shit in there. Done.

And if you lose or destroy the seal do as i and not worry. I went to disc brakes and it takes no time to re-pack a bearing. But Just remember to clean and silicone the mating surfaces before you bolt those four little backing plates bolts back in. This prevents the mud and water from really doing some damage.
