SJ410 engine upgrading

Is there a how to anywhere on the 1.3l swap into sj410? Please I like my sj alot and dont want to trash another sammy due to engine damage.

Yes, it is a pretty common swap. it has been done before. The motor mounts are different but it is a relatively small obstacle. You might enjoy a little more power by installing a 1.6 out of a tracker or sidekick and use a 1.3 trans by getting a Lucky13 adapter from SOS. A couple places you might want to google and call are Trail Tough and Petroworks. Both of them offer very good help over the phone and may have adapters for the mounts.

I install the 1.6 out of my kick into my 83 sj. I used the sammy drivetrain axles,case and tranny.
What a power difference, i love it and it has more torque then a 1.3. The stock tank from the kick will work, i did an 1 inch body lift to get the filler neck to work. I kept the fuel injection. Nice upgrade
