Anyone know how much rear leafs up front will lift the zuk? I know they move the axle forward and provide more flex, but I was wondering how much lift to expect so I can match the rear....

Thanks

Rear leaves will give you the amount that a healthy re-arched front leaf would give.

howdy,
i run stock sammi rears up front with cj fronts in the rear. the rear up front will lift the front any where from 1"- 2", depends on how shot your fronts are. but the real plus is the droop and ride.

i ran into something interesting the other day... after taking stock zuk rears, added a couple leafs, rearched, military wraps, the whole 9 yards, they were installed in the front of a zuk that has missing link shackles... normally those shackles look like....

but aftter slammin reas up fron they look like

/\

not quite so bad but the top half of the shackle is resting against the winch plate/bumper/frame extension. if the frame wasnt extended for the winch, im sure the shackle would flip till the spring hit the frame.

what am I missing here? i was under the impression that those missing links would work better with longer springs (rears up front and cj is rear type deal) or was it just understood that one would have to move the front spring hanger location?

btw for those of u that may not know.. i didnt and the spring shop pointed it out to me.... zuk springs are not the same from eye to center bolt to eye... tehre is a difference - dependng on ur arch but close to an inch difference. if ur able to just spin the packs around u can move ur axel upto an inch - I'll leave it to u to figure out which way :) problems were encountered witht he large eyelet with the steel bushing being wider than the small eyelet but thats easily worked around.

Im gonna have to check my YJ packs to see if there is a diff there too - will post back if i find anything

Dude... everybody knows the center pin is in a different location. It will move your axle forward an inch. As far as ^ goes, of course, theyre longer. My eyelets are mounted under my front bumper, remember ?

Ya you need a stop of some kind to get it back to > take a look at the pic of Scotts rear drop shakles in this thread here

You can see he has put in two stops. One to stop /\ and one to stop it from folding in after full extension <

Cool

Here's what I did, original position is under the round x-member. Plus after that I moved the axle forward another 1.5". Anyone attempting this rear leaf thing must remember that to move it forward anymore on top of this, steering issues must be addressed. Im running a steering arm and custom drag link so problem solved for me.
