I voted supermod for fun cause i wanna keep the glass in this truck for a while!!! but if it helps a bit i would compete if that was a chosen catergory because i should have a cage in by then.

since I can't find any insurance for my modified truck (nor can I afford it this year) stock comp gets my vote. so does stock fun but I'd prefer winning things while wheeling for fun.

i vote for fun.
if you want to run a compititon then things will get crazy, parts breakage and rolling. If its just for fun then there is no pressure to perform.

I liked the capture the flag event alot but it sould be set up in a way that you don't have to get every flag to win. Maybe get rid of the "win" and make it some sort of raffel. you pay $20 to play and for ever flag you get you earn one raffel ticket. have a draw for something worth while or make it a 50/50. if you dont what to pay then you can still play but no raffel for you .
Maybe have some hidden, or make it imposible to get them all within the time. There sould definatly be two catagories for the flags......cage manditory regardless of class and cage not required, there should be a equal number of non-cage vs. cage stages. The manditory cage stages sould be like kmagb hill or anything that presents a riskof a multiple roll-over or an front or rear endo. I dont feel that flop onto your side requires a full cage, or even a slow roll onto the roof, or even right over, stock roll protection should be ok.
The stuff that scares me without a cage are drops onto roof or sided in excess of a couple feet, like if you were to roll off a vertical ledge. The endo front or rear. Both of these will cause an impact load.

Find insurance. Talked with a opp guy who is on the offhighway enforcement team, trucks/sleds/bikes etc.

Got to pick his brain. If you are on crown/pubilic land you need insurance, or you will be fined. this applies to all moterized vechiles.

Also interesting side note he told me that if you have your truck plated with a offroad plate then a helmut is required during operation, cage/no-cage, hardtop softtop, did not matter. offroad plate = helmut. No helmut = fine.

John......does the NL insurace cover you for offhighway events, as far as personal liability or does it just cover the event and its organizers.

First off this isn't NL insurnace, it is through Upper Canada 4WD Assoc. This was made up of clubs that didn't want to have anything to do with NL for one reason or another. Yes it covers 2 million in liability for all participants, organizers, land owners......etc. Can you check with your guy to see if this makes them happy? I will gladly provide a copy of the Associations certificate and Binder to those that need it.

Keep it coming. I'm not sure about the raffle idea. It would still be unfair for the stockers. I am thinking that any Hard Core flag will be RED and the vehicle must have a strap attached with a spotter. This keeps the spotter off the vehicle and makes sure a spotter is being used. This IS all about having fun, and I don't want people testing thier cages on my shift. I was a nervous wreck last year after 7 rolls. Lets try for ZERO!!!! All it takes is for the MNR to know what risk they have entered into and they will Shiat Can the whole event. Put it this way. You will have no idea what your playing for so it isn't worth beating on your truck for a 5.00 gas coupon.....LOL.

SuziCan is about getting all the Zuk guys together and hating Depot's music.

You know I ejoyed the trail ride. The scenery and the comrodery. It was awsome to keep going not knowing what is just around the corner but knowing you have no choice but to keep going. Stopping on the trail in the middle of know where for lunch. Scott pulling out the BBQ. Thats an awsome day man.

That is what its about. Meeting people, trail rides, helping each other out when it breaks, cracking a few beers and telling some lies around the camp fire. Laid back, family fun........with some black flies thrown in for shiats and giggles. I think when you have the perfect Scheme you should stick to it. I was going to go bigger and better, but with all I have on my plate for the last year.........we will stay with what works.

Looking forward to seeing all you guys in a month.

I know we covered this topic to death but I'm not sure if we ever came up with a solution for trail trucks to be insured and plated as offroad vehicles. so who insures offroad trucks and how much will it cost me?

how bout the plate situation? whats the process to getting the green plate for our trucks? I tried at the MTO but they refused me because it did not fall into an offroad category. I'm this close to selling my LWB!

Sorry about the mix up regarding insurance john.
So basicaly i would be covered under the group liability if i were to trailer a truck there and then week all weekend? Just incase someone got hurt as a result of my actions. I'm still going to carry my own insurance, probably because i'll drive my truck there.

that is correct Steve. Buut I am not sure that the OPP would see this as proper coverage as stated in the hiway traffic act. I wouldn't mind you passing this buy your friend to see what he says.
