I have done a search and cannot find some of the info I needed...I am looking for the differences between a sami and an SJ410...

I know the doors and windshield frame are transferrable, and that the body mounts are different. The springs on a 410 are further inboard, but are still the same length as sami springs.

I know the hood is shorter, but does this mean if I put a sami hood on it, it will have the same clearance as a sami body?

I am not interested in drivetrain differences and am looking to make a 410 into a dedicated trail rig, I would like to eventually get a 4.3 in the thing so that is something to consider as well...I have a line on a free 410 body and frame I would like to build, but am wondering if it would even be practical for me to do.

I built a buggy starting with a SJ410 frame, steering box, t-case, and some of the suspension parts. The T-cases have different ratios if your going to use a stock case (as I did with a 4.3 & 4spd auto) use the one from the SJ410 because it has a lower ratio in L-range (.4). You will find that the inboard springs on a 410 frame will give you the ability to run wider tires before you have a conflict with the springs. I‘m currently running samurai axles witch are about 3” wider & a bit beefier then the 410 axles. As for your front suspension some people will suggest rear sammy springs in the front for your truck. I’m using and recommend finding a set of Heep CJ springs and move your mounts to make them fit, they are able to handle the weight & torque of the V6. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a334/l_reason/PICT0868.jpg

I was thinking of going YJs on this guy, thinking about getting TT's Shackle kit only (no spacers, shocks, mounts ets because they would be useless to me) But do you think the Shackles would fit on the SJ as well?

I’m not sure what “TT's” is but I do know that YJ springs are 2.5” wide and CJ’s are 2” that’s why I went with the CJ springs they are the same width as a zook.

Hey Dirt jumper,

If you go to the 4wheeler.ca website, you can send a PM to Canzuki. His name is Kiel. He's in Ardie. He seems to have tons of spare sami parts (I think he may wreck them in his spare time....).

I bought some axles off of him a few months ago.

Hope this helps.
