I have being thinking over a year now on the steering of my SJ413.Looking around he and there for info on pitman arms, not much around on this subject for this part.
With a home made coil frount and a fair amount of droup and a little up travel bump steer is going to be a drama. So what i am asking is any of you blokes had any problems with SPIDERTRAX trailmaster 3in drop pitman arm,(chassis strenth, arm tensile, bump steer).
As it is a long way over the big pond to OZ to find out it is not going to lessen bump steer not to say the $$$$ factor.
FULLLOAD has a photo of my setup he mite share with anyone (may be)
Looken good to be on the road for XMAS mud tyres have arrived, steering next.Anything else fit mite help.:D

I bought the Breeze Industries Cross over steering and its absolutely fantastic. I can say without a doubt it completely eliminated my bump steer.
Here is a write up that was done on one of the Canadian websites

Sure its more expensive than the pitman arm but its a killer piece of kit for your rig.

If you plan on putting on power steering, the sidekick / tracker main steering shaft is larger. All of the drop pitman arms that I found are for stock sam steering gears and will not fit the larger shaft.
If you go with the spring over steering systems, they will fit all suzuki gears.

I agree totally with mudslug. If you wanna eliminate total bump steer becuase you have a fair drive to the trail, i would skip the $100.00 USd drag link and save your pennies a little more and buy the crossover steering. Seems like you have a fair bit of work into the truck already so why waste it on an inferior pitman arm?

Thats one i know of mudslug we have something nearly the same over here but right hand drive (back yard inc). Not up to a Australian DMT rules. Enginering oficer will not approve it ( it dosnt look standed is the big thing)
The main thing is the connecting rod, it has to run paraell (did i spell it right) with the panard rod to minamise bump steer.I have made a three position mount on the chassie to make it std or down to 75mm down,as it is the track on the frount moves about 50mm side to side from full down to full up.At ride height to full up is about 15mm to the left difference that near a1/4 turn on the wheel inside.
Any more info out there would be nice to know. :bang:

Ahh yes I almost forgot about the weird rules you have to deal with over there. To fix your problem I would do the following
1. Go power steering
2. Lower the box a few cm
3. get the longer pitman.
That should help out the most while still remaining stock looking.
