22R vs. gm 4.3L

I got a 84 Sj 410 LWB and i lost reverse and my birfields, I will probly try to find toyota axles, but I don't know if i should get a 22R and 5 speed out of an 81 2wd 'yota or stick in a 4.3 with a turbo 350 tranny if it would fit? I wheel mostly in sand and swamp, not much rock in Sothern manitoba but tons of gravel pits.

Another thing is if i could put my carriers in a samurai axle and beef up the birfields with a ring?

talk to superzuk bout the 22r and mudlite bout the 4.3. both are doable setups.

Are you planning to keep the zook t-case? The 22R is pushing it with the that case and I am sure the 4.3l is over the top.
