Hey all,i have a 2 wd tracker that i need to tow from the east coast to las vegas.Anything special i should know about,it is a long ride and i will be by myself and really don't need any problems.This is a damn headache enough:yike I will be towing with a 2000 chevy pick up and a tow dolly.thanks in advance for the help Joey.

if you dont need to drive it on the way i would disconect the rear drive shaft from the diff and tie it up out of the way, if you remove it you will have to figure out a way to block the hole in the back of the tranny so you dont loose or contaminate the fluid.

Yep, you could do like Gearhead said, just disconnect the the rear driveshaft at the axel diff. and tie it up out of the way, that way you don't get the trans output contaminated or drop trans fluid on the ground (it'll pour out when you pull the d-shaft if it has a slip yoke at the trans).

OR..... tow it backwards, the tow truck drivers do it all the time, just lock the steering wheel. it's two wheel drive,right?
