Any thought of running a limited number of trucks thru the "lake" loop.....sorry I forgot what we called it.
I would like to try it again, preferably while not pulling another sammurai thru the first 1/2. Thanks to depot for dragging him the rest of the way, it sure was fun to watch.:yike :D
Maybe on the sunday or the monday.

I liked the thought of Ardbeg for the lesser drive.
Although thinking about it the drive to Calabogie has been part of my suzican experience for the last 4 years. Probably would not feel the same without it.

1st year I drove there in the sammy, pulling a trailer, from Hamilton an then back to Hamilton.

2nd year, same trailer in tow, left from Hamilton, did suzican then took the long way back to Hamilton...hwy. 17 to north bay and down to parry sound, a night of two at the family cottage then back to Hamilton

3rd year I flat towed from Hamilton to the cottage in parry sound, dropped off the wife, kid and dog, then to north bay and hwy. 17 to Calabogie. Returned the same way.

4th year, sent the wife, child and dog to the cottage, drove the zuk to Calabogie from Hamilton, then to the cottage through algonquin, and flat towed home from there.

I can run Ardbeg anytime, maybe this summer people from out this way could have a "pre-suzican" run there. Nothing official of course.

I haven't decided yet FULL. I think we will stick to last years format as it seemed to work well. I think the team idea seemed to work. We just didn't have enough Stock trucks to go around. I may throw in a twist, it all depends on other guys in the club helping out.

I liked last years format as well. Just take this into consideration as it was a concern from a few that i spoke with and myself. I'm not sure on the amount of flags that you had but a few less like 5-7 would work a little better for all. It seems that three trucks on an obstacle ( one team) trying to capture all of the flags was a bit of an effort. we were rushed and sometimes the traffic would build up and it's way to hard to backtrack to a flag or three that you skipped to catch up.

The past two years it was nice to see other trucks do a hard obstacle like depot and logan try hummer hill but doing so left little time to relax and get the flags.

It also makes it easier for you guys to pick up as well.

Just a suggestion and my last feeling won't be hurt if you tell me to stuff it!;)

My opinion is too many flags is good. Only a few can reach them all, and I don't think that is possible with three trucks. I guess you have to be choosey in your flags. Maybe I need to bring back the point scale for flags. make the harder ones worth more. Then it will be stratagy involved. Do I go for the big ones, or three times as many small ones????

And what about those surprise Bonus point......hmmmmmmmmm?:brows:

I like the "too many flags" idea as well, like you said, you have to pick and choose your flag. Also, if there's a big line up at the first couple flags you just blast off for the next ones.
Personally, I have only been a spotter, but there should be some type of reward for a couple of us who stayed at the flag and stamped many a truck that didn't have a spotter/ co-pilot. I think BEER would be good ( after of course)

The surprise bonus flags are good but you should consider a couple of things to help the cause. tape off the area so that you force the person to go the line you want then too instead of sneaking around the back way. ( this is assuming the two of the three bonus flags were in the rock garden by camp.)
As much as i love to win stuff not everyone will benifit from the bonus flags and therefore it will not be fair, for example last year before Craig lake trail i had a concern for body work and would not do an obstacle that threatened that and i know a few that have the truck that can and will do it but they choose not to due to reasons they choose, and thier teammates (modified/stock) will expect them to try it as they were attemping other obstacles that were of the same caliber to them.

Soooooooo........ How about this. Keep bonus flag 22b or was it 10b on the hydroline as usual, and maybe a couple other secret ones and leave the rock garden by camp for like a mimi rock crawl competetion for the hardcore guys on the last day,the day we used to run tazz. Then use tazz as an option to run on one of the first two days instead of the Quinn or the hydro line, to take pressure off the obvious two.

The hardest part will be to keep all the depot showoffs ( sorry depot your just an example) out of the rock garden until the third day before everyone leaves to go home.
I'm pretty sure the garden can hold at least 4 or maybe 5 different lines to test even the biggest buggy ( barely anyone made the far left and i never saw anyone try the far far right flag) Or something like the switch back at the northhasting's event where you would go up the hard line to the left and down just next to it and so forth until your forced up the far right side, and it can be timed as well as demerit points. We would have enough people around to be winch points top and bottom of the obstacle if a winch is nessesary. But of course helmets and cages would be mandatory with a nice prize/trophy to show your efforts.

I also think that it would keep the rollovers and carnage to a minimum during the first two days down on the bigger trucks/buggies so that we actually make it to the mini rock crawl.

I really cannot speak for the rest of the spectators but maybe a vote from Zookpower to see if people would stick around and watch as well as who would compete.

Simple rules:

Locked front and rear.
Cage
Minimum 33" tires
helmut
winch
Basic tech inspection.
Big cahonies

Whatcha think?

PM me if you think your really gonna hurt my last feeling.:D

Or just not reply and think it all over as it is your event and these are just ideas.

Watching the animals on that rock garden was one of my favorite parts of last years Suzican, Especially since my Qrinn run ended early. I'm glad I had my truck parked on top of Depots on the ramp at that time cause I had a few quick beers in me and was feeling realy brave. I'm not sure that was the case with anyone who was bouncing around on the rocks, but probably should stay make sure no one is sauced up on their cause there is alot of people standing around.

Or am I just being a pest?

Ahhh what the hell, the polish princess can drive my truck for something like that. Maybe a "divorce course" on Tazz. The women that wanna participate can drive hubbies ( or thier own) trucks up Tazz for points? The hubbies will spot. No powder puff award just bragging rights. I say Tazz just casue there is not much potential for roll over but, a good spotter and lines are priority.
Even with a cageand the polish princess wearing a helmet and points, i don't think i could handle watching her get into that situation. No No No, it's not about the truck, it's about her getting hurt. Sheesh guys.

Not a bad idea! My only concern is about it not being fair for the novices to be competing with people that have a lot of experience. For example I have 12 year under my belt, competing against rookies would kinda feel like going into a school yard and slappin preschoolers around, know what I mean?

What about something like a spotters/passengers run. Something for all the poor suckers that fallow our asses around all weekend taking pictures for us, spotting for us, punching flags, hooking up tow straps basically doing all our bitch work. Well you see, your truck ( no offense) with open diffs and 33's will not be a match for my SAS'd kick locked F/R with gears as well as if Depots girl (who does not not know how to drive stick or has ever driven before) will be offset with your 12 years expierence.
So i think it will just equal itself for driver expierence to truck capabilities.
That is just three people. I know Christine ( grumpy's wife) has her own rig built up a bit with minimal driving expierence and Tim's wife in Tim's truck to be about equal.
I think it would be an interesting time and it is only for fun as well.

Hey listen. Stop taking this to heart. There was nothing in my last post that would warrant anything like you said.

You wanna wheel with the boys and play with the boys but when something gets said ( god knows what cause i sure as hell don't know) you make comments about me not giving you respect.
My last post was another angle for suzican that would benifit the women that would wanna get involved cause we all need as many supporting wives and girlfriends that we can get, such as mrs.CZ, Christine, Karen and the polish princess. If they wanna have at it once in a while, hell i'll fix the damn truck cause she lets me fix it, after i break it.

You mistook "respect" for some basic rousing and teasing. All i'm trying to do is get a rise from you cause you started the post, I'm gonna kick all asses not only girls but guys too. point taken. (Not to mention how you felt about a powder puff award ) then your next comment went to things not bieng fair to others as your many years of offroading expierence.
I just went and said i don't see it bieng unfair for you to go up against all the other women in other trucks.
Lighten up, It was not a lack of respect or a dig against your truck. If it was, we'd be all over that SAS vs. IFS thing again

I wasn't trying to say I'd kick anyones ass, I'm in suzican to wheel with other zuks and have a good time. Nor was I trying to say that having "me" specifically compete with the other women was unfair, just anyone with alot of experience being pitted against rookies based on gender. Same as if an event lumped a bunch of stock sami's with sami's running 36's and called it fair cause their all zuk. But thats beside the point, and don't get me wrong sounds like a fun time to have in the mens cases the wives and girlfriends have a go, just wouldn't make sense for me to get in on it as I'll have been wheeling all weekend, know what I mean? If their is an event like that I'd want to let the boyfriend have a go......would that be allowed?

Hope that clarifies my meaning , and for the record I ain't back peddling , if anyone gave me a powder puff award I'd still kick their ass! lol :thefinger

If people don't show up just because Depot doesn't, then they need to get a life. I think we can have as much fun with or without. I know my heart will enjoy the rest....LOL. Maybe I should stall his house drawings to prolong the permits.....Bwahahahahaha!!!
