Yep well like the topic says...

If its raining or humid, the Kick don't start and consequently.... I become late for school...and as much as I hate the damn place... I gotta go on time as much as I can...

I got her to go today after spraying my engine bay, and all wires with good old WD40. (disperses moisture)...or so I am told... but it worked for today...only 7 minutes late for class.

Where do u think I should start?

I did NOTHING since I bought it... (ooops)

plugs, wires, cap and rotor...?

later.

Yes. Change the wire, and the cap for sure. Rotor should come with the cap. And while your at it, change the oil, filter and plugs.
Have a look at the wires in the dark, while the truck is running. Mist them with water and watch what happens. Or better yet grab one :-)

By nothing, I didn't mean the oil...i put Mobil 1 every 3000. All my toys always have fresh oil...don't worry about that.

Yeah, good ideal about misting with water... I will try that.

I will also put some new plugs... soo much for enjoying my day off... gotta keep the Suzooks tip-top.

Last winter at -35 Celcuis, my mom got mad at me because her little cavalier would't fire up... I (cockily) go out and give my Kick a turn of the key and it fired right up... Muuhahahha

Gotta make sure it will still put the 1998 Cavy to shame this winter... LOL

Try Dialectric grease in all the spark plug wire ends. Just a little dab will do ya. Don't forget to splurge the coil wire as well.

Give the coil a good cleaning.
My parents Toyota does the same thing sometimes in damp weather. The coil on it leaks if there is a bit of dirt or corbon on it.
Every so often it needs to be cleaned with a rag, then it works fine.

OK, well I replaced my plugs. The previous owner had installed Canadian Tire Motomaster plugs. (ouch!) They seemed to be about as old as the truck itslef, the electrodes were all rounded off. I threw in some AC Delco's.

I also removed and replced my cap & rotor with new ones. The old one looked as old as the plugs... The tips were all corroded and had a bunch of white powder crap on them.

I looked at the wires and they seemed fine, no cracks, and they look new. I was grabbing them all over while the truck was running and I didn't zap (or kill) myself, so I will leave them.

Thanks people,

Mine was the same when I bought it, any hint of moisture and it would cry the blues. I changed EVERYTHING electronic under hood in one shot, coil, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and I'm sure other stuff (was 3 years ago) and the problem never returned.
Few weeks ago I had it in water lapping at the windshield line and she kept on ticking. So much for the fear of water....

PS-blew out a headlight that night cause water got behind the lense and probably caused the bulb to fail. (water line was well over the headlight level) LOL

I spray the distributor with WD and the inside of the cap as well.

Well, after about a week since the post, It started for me every time. Runs well to... I can hold about 70MPH on the highway in 5th gear on pretty much any hill, with 12 Psi in the tires. Gets me to school pretty quickly.

I keep soms LPS-3 (same shit as WD) in the truck just to be sure... but I won't need it.

Thanks guys.
