OF4WD Coffee Chat
Hello Fellow Off Road Roaders!

As a Director of the OF4WD (Ontario Federation of 4-Wheel Dive) I am going to conduct a weekly coffee chat in many areas in Ontario, mostly in the Golden Horseshoe, but I will be avalible to venture furthur if you wish.

The coffee chats will be easy going, I just want to be avalible for anyone with any concerns with regards to trails, off roading, or anything else you wish to talk about. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come out.

My first Coffee Chat will be on Wednesday Evening starting at 8pm at the Gateway Niagara in Grimsby Ontario, PM me for more information. The next meet will take place a week after in Brampton, more details to follow.

I want to be of service to help out with everyone's concerns with the trail system in Ontario and to help lobby your concerns with local and provincal governments.

I would like to meet with each and everyone of you guys (and ladies!) If you have any additional suggestions or comments, please post them here, or PM me anytime.

Thanks!

Jeff Corradetti
Director - OF4WD

It is a good way to get your voice heard, I am a member but didn't get to involved last year. I'm hoping to get out more and be heard, now that I have a working truck, a Zook. I'll post when the next meeting is.

Does that mean things have changed in the orginization or just the name?

Atticus
February 10th, 2006, 11:14 AM
I wasn't a member before so I don't know what it was like back when. I have heard a few bad things, but never really got the full story. From what I understand they have replaced quite a few directors with people who really want to make a difference and get their voices heard. Again there link is http://www.of4wd.com/ you can contact one of the directors and ask any questions you wish.

Hey Mudd and Mudd, whats the historical problems with Northern Lights, sorry for being ignorant. Just wondering breifly what was the problem?

Also has anyone here gone to a Camp Northern Lights in Minden, I was checking that out on the site. I was wondering if anyone has had any experiences going there? Well organized? Good trails? Fun time? Anyone?

I will have to be careful how to answer for fear of being sued by them..LOL. The facts are as follows: I was once the VP of NL, but was voted out along with a few other founding members. Polotics almost had me burning my truck to the ground to get out of the sport, it was that bad. Instead we formed our own Association to allow us to contiue to hold events on crown land. I will not get into the knitty gritty, but not much has changed since. I created our association to distance myself from the problems that were being created at the time. In hopes that they would shrivel up and die. Maybe this was the reason for the name change?

Just for the record, Jeff seems to be a straight up guy and one of the few that is serious about this.

That we agree on, he created these coffee chats on his own and is doing it at his expense, simply from his love of the sport.

Thanks for the answer, I new that would be delicate to answer. I could always feel the tension.

If this could be done on a thursday, friday Saturday night ( nights i'm not working) i will attend one of these chats as i love coffee, and to get an idea of whats involved and bieng done.
The "coffee chat" in brampton is very convienently placed to the "coke plant" which roumor has me to belive has been just recently closed due to the excess traffic.
I don't mind driving to meet either but unfortunalty i has to accept my work sched.
