Man ! Piss me off !

We live in Hamilton's downtown core, right on the main drag, there is a 24 hour gas bar right across the street, our property is lit up so bright at night you can read a newspaper sitting in the backyard.

So I got up this morning and found the doors on my truck swinging open, and the snaps undone on my top. Someone had tried to steal it off my Sam in the middle of the night !
( and its not even that great a top - they must be really desperate )

When they tried to pull the top out of the windshield track the plastic lip stayed put, and the fabric just pulled away, busting all the stitches. :bang:

Anyone done any sewing on a top ? suggestions as to what thread would work the best ? I've got to sew through the fabric and the plastic strip, guess I'm going to have to go to Wally Mart and find some heavy duty needles...

( I would love to take it to a place that repairs boat tops and have somebody fix it... but I don't have the $$$ for that right now... wonder if the jerks are waiting for me to fix it so they can come back to steal it a second time... )

Pissed in Hamilton

I would glue it and then sew it, that way if your sew job sucks ass you will still be glued in place.

Some advice, get some hockey tape and put it over the male part of the button snaps and then use a small hammer to put the button together. The tape makes the snap super tight and hard to pull apart (old hockey helmet trick)

It will be a bitch for them to get it off...it will be for you to though.....
