The North Hasting Four Wheel Drive Club would like to invite everyone to attend our Annual Wheelfest Week. We have been doing this for several years as a club but this year we are inviting all our friends to come along with us. If you have a holiday day still to book off of work or want to get out for a couple of weeknd runs this is the time to use them up.
What is Wheelfest?
Wheelfest is basically a week of wheelin held during the Thanksgiving holidays and the days following it. We believe that the fall time of the year is the best time for wheeling. No bugs, no heat and beautiful fall colours to be admired. This year we have 2 runs planned through the week plus a run planned for each of the 2 weekends.
Cost?
Whatever it costs to fill your fuel tank. There is no charge for this. No trophies, no prizes, its just a great time of year to get out and wheel.

The Shedule:
Saturday Oct 11 ..... We are planning doing The Forest Loop + Greens Mountain (time permitting) in the Bobcaygeon/Buckhorn area. The Forest Loop is a new trail in the area and from what we hear it can get nasty. Resently rated as a 4+ during the Camp N/L event. IF time permits we will head to Greens Mountain while we are in the area.
Sunday Oct 12 ... Turkey day (no run)
Monday Oct 13 ... Turkey day (no run)
Tuesday Oct 14 ....On this day we plan to run a place affectionately known to us as the Hell Trail. The trail is located near Madoc. Its a tight grown in trail. Full size trucks have been down the trail but it is tight for them. We have run this trail for 5 years and have yet to get to the other side of it. It features some water crossings and is settled in the tight woods and swamps in the area. Information we have gained over the years tells us it could be a 45km trail and we have only been able to conquer the first 17kms. We have only run the first 7kms of this trail this year in the spring and may find several downed trees. The plan is to get as far as we can while clearing the fallen trees to open the trail up. If you plan on attending and own a chainsaw it maybe wise to bring it along. Here are a couple of links.

Wednesday Oct 15 ... R&R (rest and repair day)
Thursday Oct 16 ...Next up is a run to the Quinn Trail near Ompah (aprox. 45 mins north east of Kaladar). Similar to the Hell Trail but with a bit more elbow room and hill climbs. We plan on doing the trail from the Front to Back to Front Doors. Below are some links to the Quinn Trail.

Friday Oct 17 ... R&R (rest and repair day)
Saturday Oct 18 ... Rock Crawling at its best. The Lingham Lake Powerline offers us some of the best rock crawling in the area. We'll enter near the village of Flinton (10mins north of Kaladar hwy41 & 7) and make our way west climbing the several rock croppings and hills along the way. The powerline is a 4 tower wide set up that offers lots of room. A few sample pics can be found at

NOTE: scheduling may change due to resonse, both for which runs & which days. ie; a run may be added or the day changed if discussed before hand. In order to know who is attending all the runs, all meeting times and directions will be sent out to those who reply to this invitation.
