Come join in the fun at the First Annual Mohawk Fair 4x4 Challenge being held this coming Sunday Sept 14 at the Mohawk Fair Grounds in Shannonville( East of Belleville). Below you will find some description of the events and how they will be run. If your in the area stop by and check things out. We're sure you'll want to join in on the fun to win prizes and trophies. Everything gets started at noon sharp.

You will be charged a fee at the gate for admission to the fair. Non-members of Northern Lights will be charged an extra $10 at registration to compete. This is to cover insurance costs. All Northen Lights members (club or individual) are already covered by the insurance through there membership and do not have to pay the insurance fee. All participates must sign a waiver before entering the course.

Directions...take 401 to hwy 49 at shannonville. go south to hwy 2. cross hwy 2 (small jag in road as you cross hwy 2). follow road south to the fair grounds. fair grounds is on east side of hwy. enter in any gate and you'll find us behind the midway near the woods.

How run:

....the lay out is set up as 2 courses
....depending on number of trucks both courses will run at the same time.
....drivers will have a choose to do both courses or just one.
....the show and shine, the tettor toter and RTI will be run before mud and rocks courses
....inspectors will check for wheel bolts, nuts, battery tie down, vehicle must be safe. should have tow points at both ends.

Show and Shine: 12 noon

.....people mingle amongst the trucks and pick a number. fill out piece of paper at gate as they leave for the bleachers voting for their favorite truck.

....RTI.. flex contest. winner who has best flex

....Teetor Toter...balance contest... everyone gets 5 tries. 3 forward 2 backwards


The Rock Trail Course: a course that winds through the clear cut shady woods with several rock piles along the way. go throw the marked off course, by going around the trees and climb as many rock piles you can to gain points.

....4 trucks max at a time.
....a marshall with each truck. marshall will mark on score sheet after a person completes the piles. each mark worth 5 pts. marks penalties the same way
....5 pts per rock pile that the driver drives up. driver has to get one tire on the pile and get over. note: one tire only has to get on the rock piles as the piles are not wide enough for complete truck to cross.
....drivers can go around rock piles that are to big. loss no points, don't gain none either.
....driver can have a spotter
....penalty points for reverse, winching, tug, out of bounds etc etc..all penaltys are worth 2 points..winching or tug are 5 pts points. person is tugged through a spot, you do not gets the points for getting through, if they had help but they do get the penalty points. .
....no speed time. winner to be decided by points total after pentaly points are subtracted from his score
....tie is broken by who has the least about of penalty points due to driver had the cleanest run.
....stacking allowed if you can carry the rocks. 4 count in effect

The Mud Bogger Trail: this event has 4 areas to beat. it has a tire pit, table top, mud bog and some large holes to try to drive through. lots of room for high reving fun.

....event has 4 areas. tire pit, table top, mud bog, large holes. each spot is worth 25 pts if driver completes that section. if person is tugged through a spot, they do not gets the points for getting through the section, if they had help but they do get the penalty points.
....drivers go through tire pit over table top, turn to get into the mud pit and out through the holes.
....no speed time. winner to be decided by points total after pentaly points are subtracted from his score
....tie is broken by who has the least about of penalty points due to driver had the cleanest run.

note: event organizers may change rules as required for adjustment of an unfair rule or course lay out is found to be unfair. all drivers will be informed of any changes. drivers meeting after show and shine is held (aprox 12:45- 1pm).

Hmmmm depot if we did a few things on sat aft/night i think that we may be able to make it?????hmmmmmmm
