today 2 members of zookpower shined at the mohawk fair 4x4 challenge in shannonville. congratulations go out to depot and full load for placing 3 times between them on the events. full load took 3rd in a very tricky rock crawling course while depot took second by a mere point. depot and full load had the crowd cheering and applauding as their zuks showed them no rock is to big for them. depot also took 2nd on the mud course. this course consisted of a tire pit, small hill climb, mud pit and some deep holes. depot held first for a while on this course with a 56' attempt but that was good enough as one 1 truck beat the 70' mud pit.

all in all it was a good day..there was many broken parts (driveshafts,u-joints,main springs, hubs, axles) throughout parts of the day. it didn't matter if it was the mud course of the rock one. people broke. there were 25 trucks that attended and showed to the crowd what its like to wheel. today the group that ran the event were informed that they are welcome back next year.

super show guys.

Al!!!! i hope that you can locate somebody that was doing video at the competition. I would do whatever it takes to get a copy of depot and i through the rocks.

depot, i'll contact the guy who set it up and see what he can find as far as videos go. i'd like to able watch it again to. it was pretty cool watching you guys at work. i thought you had a very good chance on winning that event. maybe penalty points was the difference between you and first place. there was only 3-5 points separating 1st and 3rd.

yeah I know...i was told that I woulda won it if it werent for the last rock - the bonus one...

The rock was placed dead center in the path right after a pair of trees and sure enough as soon as i started to climb it, my roll cage started to brush one of the trees. being respectfull of the organizers wishes on not damaging the trees, i backed off - losing 2 points for the reverse. not wanting to miss out on the 10 point bonus rock, i rammed it with my diff and pounded over it - the rear tire actually made contact giving me the points for it. seeing as I was the first truck through and after realizing what would happen with the rock where it was, they moved it a few feet over to one side so as to spare the tree from roll cage or body damage. Guess thats what i get for going first.

but then again, after watching some of those heep boys get stuck, then pulverise the poor piles of rock turnign it into a paved superhighway at some points... Im glad I went first - was more fun and challenging.

I'm definatly looking forwaard to checkin a few more events like that one whenever they pop up - gimme a shout.

cause they moved it over to the drivers side of the course right after my run.. u got ur front tire on and over it then hit the frame/rocker - good thing u pinned it b4 u lost traction in the rear and plowed over it - air and all - nice job

i'm not aware of anymore of these fair events coming this year. i personally am involved (organizing/assisting) in 3 4x4 challenge events within the peterboro-belleville region. they are in june, aug and sept. all three are annual events.
