Looks like I'm going to be able to make the event this year and would like to make it an event for the family, as this will our first offroading event for any of us. BUT the wife wants to participate in the Canada day activities, specially the fireworks, back here in Petawawa. Was curious to see if firewoks are being set off or allowed, therefore the wife can take the kids for the afternoon then come back for the night fireworks.
Thanks
Steve

There will be NO fireworks at SuziCan for a couple reasons. The main reason would be the insurance does not allow for it, plus there is no real safe place to fire them off. I would imagine that the Petawawa Fire works would be better than anything we could fire off. 100.00 lasts you all of 25 seconds.:D

They have a fireworks display in Calabogie every year.
It's actually quite good.. I have managed to catch it 3 or 4 times now.
Being that the camp grounds are only 5-10 minutes drive from the fireworks, I think that would be a good option for you.

Sounds like a great idea !!! Where do they fire them off? We can all convoy down ( street machines only) and take it all in. ( no drinking either, till after)

Usually they go off the night of the 1st, just after sun down (9.30ish)
I'll find out a more accurate time though before Suzican.

They fire them off at the lower Dam at the east end of the lake. The boat launch, and Tourism office are right across the road from there.

We'll just load everyone up on all the flat bed car haulers. Depot is not driving!!!! 10 or 12 bodies on a trailer should keep it from bouncing too much.:D

the locals fired off right at the lake last year, off and on fer about 10 min,was pretty cool the kids loved it,they all pooled thier money together,i am positive they would love us to join in,i still talk to people from there every week,i could ask?? then we do not have any pavement pounding!!!!!:D

Sounds good ! We wouldn't have to worry about insurance liability and could just dontate to the Works. If everyone brought a bit up it would make for a descent show.

The fireworks display is put on by the members of the local volenteer firefighters association. If Suzican wants to make a donation, I'm sure it could be arranged easily. I already have the contact info.
If I remember right, they accept Cash, Credit and Jack Daniels.

I am confused to which fireworks we are talking about. Soem people are talking about fires works in town and other are talking about fire works at the trailer park.
I assume that the trailer park would be better for a few reasons. Not having to drive, being able to toss a bunch of low grade fireworks at them, being able to drink......

It's up to you... I wasn't aware there was any fireworks at a nearby trailer park.
Although, considering it IS Calabogie.. I'm sure that's not just a July 1st event :P

there might not be. I just think we are all getting confused. Maybe Bill can contact his freinds at the camp and verify.

cool thx Bill. So if people want to donate fire works, bring them to registration and we will give them over to the Campground to light off.
Should be a good party.
