OK,

I am coming home from school yesterday. My kick is running mint. I am almost at my house and it starts missing and runnig really crappy... (heavy rain)

I get home, eat and I have to go to work immediatly so I don't do anything to it at all... Keeps runninh like shit. (still heavy rain)

Today, (sunny, dry day) I started it up, it's running better... But nowhere near where it should.. I check all my plug wires all that junk and still everything seems fine..

For the hell of it I sprayed some Throttlebody cleaner in the intake... runs a bit better.

I then took if for a ride, and ran rough at first, and got better and better and now it's fine.

WTF?!

Probably got some water in your distributor cap. Happens to me when I am trying to play in the mud. The stupid vent thingy lets too much water in. We siliconed the distro cap on, and put duck tape over the vent hole. Don't have so much of a problem now.

Of course.....duct tape!

LOL

I don't remember seeing a vent hole on my distributor, but I will go look right now.

Thanks Heather!

Its the little black knob on the dist. the one without a wire going to it.:D all you have to do is pull it off, and that will show you what we mean.

Good info, Thanks.

One more thing I will do is add some bigger splash shields... I didn't make any to account for the 3 inch body lift. So it is making a 3 inch gap all around the engine bay. I will put a piece of rubber on each side to keep it a little dryer under there. (Espescially when going through puddles @ high speed.)

rubber lawn edging or rubber floor trim makes excellent el cheapo splash guards... cut to fit and screw in..

Pull off the distributer cap and spray everything with wd40. Done deal. And keep the wd40 handy.
