Ok, I was thinking about last time I went over and I was looking at some of the cool rock buggies and I want to put in an emergency cut of switch with a little extra suprise.

I want the switch to first shut off all the electrics to the motor so it dies and then send a pulse to an actuated ball valve the closes of the fuel line to the carb so I don't get a siphon effect again and spill gas all over the place and flood out the motor.

What I was looking at to use was the switch on the attached webpage
http://www.princessauto.com/_osn.cfm?CTRY=CAN&output=OSN&Factor=2&Starter=161&PageSearch=ALL&CurrentPage=11

Look down the page for switch part number 800843.

Think it could be wired to do that? I think it could work...

that looks like the old style - hi/low beam switch for headlights that gets mounted on the floor beside the brake pedal - one in - 2 outs - switches between the outs. the way I'd picture wiring that switch...

when A is on, normal operation - u would route ur "ON power" from ur ignition through this (preferably through a heavy duty relay) that way when u swith to B, A gets turned off - same effect as turning key back to accesory.

B - would activate ur ball valve fuel cut off thingie.

make sure the switch is either A or B, and not A or A + B

where would u put the switch anyways? i would suggest against the floor - dirt, water, mud, etc... how but putting one of those big red buttons on it like u find in all emergecy stop safety swithces on big machinery type stuff? and then stick it on ur dash or something.. jsut an idea

better yet, look into those big red safety cut off switches.. i think they are designed to hold lotsa power and activate a secndary device when depressed.

For sure, I was actually thinking of placing a big red emergency button over the switch and put it centre on the dash or on the roof where an over head consol would be.

Hmm, I figured it would work.....
