Anyone know how much current(amps) you can run through the Aux terminal (red in that diagram), or the backup lights (purple in that diagram)?

depends on ur rig but not much. Most trucks dont even have an active aux wire in the plug and very few have a reverse wire. My dually came with an aux wire that wasnt even in the plug, just taped along side the haarness for me to wire up and its a lite wire.. no more than 5 amp rating from what I member.

I'm trying to hook up rear lights to the sami tonight and ran into a problem. I bought and adapter thing that is supposed to be able to limit me to one left and one right tail light to do tail, brake and signal.
it has on the car side
right signal
brake
left signal
tail light

then on the other side of this box it has
right signal/brake
left signal/brake
tail light

I can get the tail light to work through it but not the brake light. I have those sealed oval lights and they work brake and tail when i hook them direct but when i run it through the box the brake part doesn't work.
I've sent ohms throught the box and it flows throught the tail light part but when I put ohms in the brake wire on the car side of the box I get no ohms out any wire on the other side of this box. Shouldn't I?

Don't forget about the size of your ground wire.
If you are running all your parking lights ( running lights) and then have a big Juicy aux. wire feeding, say a trailer mounted winch, you must also run just as big (if not bigger) ground wire (all the way to your battery).
Remember, current flows from negative to positive, not the other way around, as they tend to make us believe…….
don't rely on your trailer ball to ground your trailer.

Longy, check your ground, it's always your ground!
