hey, i like it, kinda reminds me of some one elses.
good choice on the colour, looks great. you will be happy happy, couple mods down the road, when your warrenty is up and it will be more fun.
the axles is a AAM 9.5 i think , i will get back to you on that. if your truck is an auto, trhen your rear is a AAM 11.5. check the glove box for the info there, it should tell you what gear ratio you have, and if you have 4:10's like me, they suck ass on the highway, so you might want to step up to a larger tire size in the future.
the free wheeling hub kits that you can buy from dynatrac, and large coin, i looked into it to, and they are about 1800 US.
a little pricy for me, when you can get a larger turbo for that!!!!!
if you have any q's on the truck, just either pm , or give me a call, i can share everything i know about them, and i know lots now!!!!
enjoy it, they are a great truck.
PS, nice poser pics

AAM 950 is a rear axle only as far as I know. A little stronger than a dodge D60. I think they have a 9.25 ring front axle though.

GB is right on the rear, it should be 1150.

You should have a 1050 front axle in the HD deisel.

what the hell is a 1050????
i would have to check my truck, but it is getting AC fixed right now.
i know for sure the rear is a 11.5 AAM, thats there biggest rear on a single wheeled truck. the front i can't remember 9.something or 10 something like you said.either way, they are big and can handle what you can dish out.

That is how American Axle & Manufacturing identifies their axles.

It's AAM 1150, not 11.5 AAM. 1050 = AAM 1050

The numbers are the ring gear diameter and there is no decimal place.

Regardless they're all stronger than D60's. Aftermarket support (lockers, gears, shafts...) is there, but costly.

mmmm, 1380 front axle...

your right.
and your right.
i just wanted to see if you knew what you were talking about!!!
no kidding on the costly parts, even ball joints are more money, and i haven't figured out yet if they are the same or not from the older ones, but hey, advantages, and disadvantages.

all I know they're big fukn units:D would look mighty sweet under a sammi too:brows:

gb, I'm sure I'll be hitting you up for info, I checked out some cummins boards, but after seeing how much aftermarket support there is for these trucks, I logged off and I'm stayin' away:thefinger (I got a house to buy:D )
the axles are stuffed with 3.73's, but I still find it revin' little high at cruise speeds of 120-130... maybe a set of 20's will help some

first things first though..... got to get a cap for the bed (so if anyone hears or sees anything for sale please lmk:bringiton  )

My buddy Derrick Fattore own Kicker Pipes. He make custom side pipes for Dodge dually's. They are super sweet, all mandrel bent, incorporated steps, polished stainless....

Lets see if I can find a pic...

Nice truck - thats the colour i was looking for when i got mine - but a nice white 6spd 3500 srw truck came up for the right price so i jumped on it. They really are great trucks for towing and daily driving.
They aren't that quick stock - but can get really pricey fast to mod.

As for the axle debate - it's a 9.25" Front axle, and 11.5" rear axle on the diesel HD's - the glovebox sticker will tell you exactly.
