Ok so yesterday i made a new steering shaft with 2 u joints instead of 1 ujoint and a piece of rubber.
i though sweet now i will finally have my steering woes sorted out.
NOPE:mad:

When moving slow 20-30km/h the steering is alright, hit like 50 60 and to keep the truck going straight i ahve to hold the wheel 90deg off center (know what i mean?)
I hate this i want my steering to be decent and the steering wheel to be cenetered when i go straight, is that too much to ask ?:bawl:

Does anyone have any ideas?
There is 6inches of suspesnion lift and 3 inches of body lift
There is no drop pitman arm, would this cause the messed up steering wheel ?

tire pressures?

hows ur eye-linement?

u sure all the TRE's are good?

It sounds to me like ur alignment is way outta wack. pump ur tires up to their max psi, measure the space betwen the tires at the front side of the tires and at the back side of the tires. thats not 100% but its a god start.

Are ur wheel bearings tight? King pin bearings? jack up one tire and give it a good wiggle, left to right and up and down.. is there play? ur bearings could be toast too. Without seeing it, I dont think anyone can tell u wtf is up with ur rig.

u got my #, im in ur part of town, gimme a shout and well hook up.

p.s. a centered steering wheel? yep, thats too much to ask :D easiest way to center ur wheel is a 17 mm socket, take it off, center it and put it back on. As my springs wear out and settle more and more, my steering center keeps changing.. fact of life.

Actually, no, it's not too much to ask. You need an adjustable drag link. That'll allow you to EASILY centre your steering wheel. As soon as you lift a truck, the angle of the drag link changes, making the horizantal dimensions shorter by quite a bit, wich in turn causes your steering wheel to pull to one side.

yep, my drag link is adjustable (left and right ends (princess auto tractor arm special) but I cant be bothered adjusting it - my tires dig into my springs way b4 i run outta steering turns on the wheel so no biggie deal - toy IFS p.s. box but i have noticed the zuk man steering ones do run out when u move the height of ur truck around a bit.

Adjustable drag link you can make. As far as a pitman arm goes I can probably get you a crossover arm for close to the same price. If you go drop pitman youll need a z-link (basically a bent up drag link) and that still kinda sucks.

actually it hink this year i'll stick with what i have :D

After tighteneing up the bearings (who ever did it before forgot to bend the little figers on the middle washer over the nuts), i took the truck for a drive and proceded to damn near light the drivers side front brake on fire. It was crackling and smoking and the hub/brake/rim was HOT
seems that the caliper was seized, and that was causing the truck to pull HARD to the left.
poped it off unstuck it put it back on, and my truck goes %90 straight :D I think to get it better it jsut needs an alignemnt.
thanks again guys
and lil beast thanks for the tech support :D
