Hey all, I thought you would all like to hear about our trip to the forest loop and what a total farce it was....some of it was my fault, some of it was mother natures fault, some was the OPP's fault and some .....welll you will see

So I was late to the meeting area because I got pulled over by the Po Po because he wanted to "check" my tow bar set up and make sure I was all legal. I was able to quote some of the write up that Depot did in the "trailers and towing" forum and make it look like I knew what I was talking about and he let me go but held me for 15 mins or so...making me late.

So we go looking for the trail from the directions that I received and everthing kinda fell into place. So we go looking for the trail and find what we think was the trail and Scott give the first hill a shot and is denied, Then I give it a shot and as soon as I put a little bit of torque into by front axle "BANG" click click click click click click click. Yep, the hub blew up, or the axle snapped, or something and I was without 4 wheel drive for the rest of the day.... I don't know exactly what happened yet but I have a serious front end issue, more on this when I tear it apart.

So Mightymouse points towards the hill and gives her hell and gets denied as well, we could have winched but thats no fun and Scotty was ready for another shot so off he goes up the hill and was right at the top and then "psssssssssssss" he ripped off a valve stem and was down a tire. He would have made it for sure but decided to back down so he would have a flat spot to change his tire.

So we switched to the tire to a very tired spare we decided to hit the bypass.

I made it up the bypass in 2 wheel drive no problem and knew that I would do OK on just about anything with the spooled rearend but wasn't prepaired for what I ran into at the top of the hill. After crawling over some rocks I turned a corner and was looking at a 15 foot high rock face that was passible with 4 wheel drive if you knew what you where doing

So we decided to walk this trail and see if me in 2 wheel drive and Scott with his questionable spare could do the rest of the trail if we winched this rock face. After walking for 20mins the resounding answer was no, no fawking way.

But then after looking at the trail closer we saw that no-one had been on this trail in at least 6 months so we were wondering if we were on the right trail....or if we took a wrong turn on the trail somewhere and ended up on a hell trail in the back woods that ate parts and trucks for breakfast.

Anyway I am fixing George this week, Scott is fixing his rim as you read this and we are going back to do the trail we were on, if anyone wants to come along with us on our next shot you are more than welcome to but we are going to complete it for sure.

Whatever we were on makes Greens look like the 401. There were rock faces 10 to 15 foot high with no bypasses, drop offs that were 6 to 7 feet straight down with no bypasses and off camber stuff that you would need to tie off on for sure.

Depot, you in on this....I am thinking Sunday or Monday AM....anyone?
