There should be more then one suzican a year. Theres a whole lota summer out there.
We could help out the organizers or what ever it would take to get another one off the ground without stressing anyone person out.
Thoughts?

That is a great Idea, maybe we could do it in Quebec in a place called Chersey......Oh wait, they do it on the same weekend.
I'm all for having one in the fall. How far would people travel? Why not have it in Paragon? Trails Rock! 6 hours south. We could make it a trail run without all the hoopla.

You'll have people backing out of Canada day to go to Paragon instead.

I go to a rally/trail ride on Thanksgiving weekend. Too cold to go doorless and topless :( Would be nice if there were more organized runs for all types of 4x4's. The one in Chersey (Zuk trails I believe), is for pretty serious rigs (much like suzican). I'd like to see more 'for everyone' trailing, something for the whole family. Like a ski hill has trails for all skill levels.

It might make some sense to have something a little further South, towards the T.O. area... let those bastards host us Ottawa folk for a change ;)

I meant down in Southern Ontario.. but if you want to take me literally - The City Hall might work. We could climb cars, and then wash our trucks in the fountain out front. ;)

How about we have one every weekend throughout the Summer at a different golf course :D

Dont matter how well u organize it, it wont be enjoyable...places down here r few n far between. There is a reason us guys in Southwestern Ontario travel to places as far as calabogie, bobcaygeon and for some people, sudbury.

Hey Sarge.....aren't there some nice trails up near Arcona??? One of my mechanic buddies mentioned it to me a few weeks back and said they go alllll the way up to Grand Bend. My rig just hasn't been in shape to investigate yet.

Those trails are private land and should be left alone, the quads have really ruined it for any chance of dialogue. fkn hully gully did a run there last year with over 100 quads without even askin permission from the landowners, or so one land owner told me.

I have the line on alot of mellow and hardcore trails but all the rock is in your neck of the woods. We have a little here and there but its connected with alot of mud and swamp!

down my way it's sand, mud, hills and more sand...
But I have full access to 100 Acres where anything is possible... we could make our own rock courses etc... and it's all connected to the reforestration areas and E108...

I would be interested in Hosting a smaller run in the Fall for anyone that wants to come down to Niagara, there are alot of areas around here that we could set up for, but I would also be in for one a little closer like the Cobourg area mentioned.

You know John, I can't believe you are still bitter about that. Our event went very well for a first year. Did you not have a good turn out at Suzican?
It sucks that you can't let it go.

Once my truck's ready for a lil test run, I'll happily host something down here... have space for camping for a good number of people...

I was reading up on the debate between the 2 Suzuki events on July 1st and have a question. Why can't we (or all) just have an event on Labor Day weekend? Makes sense to me. Long weekend, good weather, not too close to another event (or same same day for that matter!). We have an event on Thanksgiving weekend here in Quebec. As you can imagine, it's kinda cold to take the top and doors off.
There must be a way to organize events for everyone. Spread them out a bit more. Maybe one in Ontario (Suzican), one in Quebec (Zuktrails), and why not one in the Maritimes?! Of course other events could be held, on other dates. Seems so easy to me. And before you say I have no idea, yes I do. I used to be on the commitee of a local club. We organized mud drags, and had a blast!
We all love Zuks. What else matters?

we tried to get zuktrails to hold their event on labour day but dannyl insisted it be on canada day (no comment beyond this point), mudlite wasn't about to change suzican for obvious reasons. if you can think of a solution that would be great but our previous attempts didn't seem to work. :(

A solution I don't have... it all comes down to communication. Sadly, the communication for July 1st didn't workout. There is a long weekend in Quebec one week before Canada Day weekend. Obviously this makes sense. Everyone has Canada Day, and Thanksgiving. Heck, why not a winter wheeling event?
All I'm saying is, that the guys that organize should give it another shot. Much like contract negotiations start way before it's time for a new agreement, talks for events should get started as soon as possible. Make it a Canadian tour, or an eastern tour, whatever, call it macaroni if that helps!
I'm not pointing fingers, or putting anyones efforts down. I known (or atleast read) what happened for July 1st. Rarely does the "screw em" method help.
The entire Suzuki community would benefit and grow from cooperation amongst the event organizers.
