Hey all,

I am finished pulling my beautiful new 1.6L 16V engine from the donor 'kick and I'm wondering what kind of fuel pump I should be looking for. Szabotage was awesome and installed a 'kick gas tank for me with a fuel pump however should the pump be toast .. I need to have a backup plan.

What type of in-line fuel pump should I be looking at if say the in-tank pump is shot? I am looking to keep this as cheap as possible so any input is greatly appreciated.

Cheers!

james, there's no fuel pump in the tank just pick up hose on the sender unit, but a good replacement is the inline pump from an F 150. any wrecker(GL) will have em and they are installed on the frame.

A 1987 f-150. The probs that i am having is that the pump is a pusher pump. So one gulp of air before the pump. ( silly angle and you suck air for a second or two) it will lose it's prime. Those with a sump in the cell are not having as much trouble as i am with mine that runs up to the top of the tank and then down around. There is an accumilator that will do the trick but right now it sucks having to get out and sucking on a gas line to get fuel to the pump to start the truck again.
