side kick or samurai???
shouldn't come loose if the nut is tight and locked down.

This is in the Samurai section, so I assume it's for a Sammi.

There are two nuts with a locking plate that slides between them. After the first nut goes on, the plate slides over the spindle shaft. You then install the second nut to sandwich the locking plate. On the plate, there are a couple of tabs you are supposed to bend over the nuts to hold them. One tab bends over the inside nut, the other tab bends over the outside nut. This should hold them together.

Assuming that isn't working, and you've tried that (just trying to cover all bases here) Another option is to jam the nuts together. Once you've found your correst bearing backlash, hold the inside nut as firmly as possible (i've used screwdrivers for this before). Now, Jam the outside nut on with all the force of Hercules himself.

I had the same problem as you, and the locking plate wasn't doing the trick. But jamming the nuts together has been working great for me all season..
Goodluck!

yea i lock the tabs on the plate usually do more than 2 and tigthen the outside nut with an 18" bar as tight as i can... but yet they still come loose... i guess maybe i am just not tightening them enough? ill try without the locking plate and see what happens.. could it also be because im locked in the front? also maybe because i drive it everyday on the street?

yea i do have manual hubs... i tightend them again today but this time i tightend the inner nut so the wheel couldnt turn then loosend it off a 1/4 turn and then i put the outter nut on as tight as i could possibly get it so we will see what happens!
