a 1.6 8V uses 30-34psi pump and the 16V uses 34-38 psi pump. so the kick pumps r lower than most other fuel pumps and the proper in line pump is alot of cash so your best bet is to use the kick pump in tank or after market pump and a adjustable bypass regulator.

Pressure is not the only issue, you have to make sure the flow is high enough as well. The first inline I got was 40 PSI and it would not keep the truck running as it was not enough flow.

87ish bronco or F150 of same year will work mint, lots of people are using that setup along with a common low pressure pump near the tank to prime the line

not enough flow for a suzuki?????
i am in no way questioning you, just can't seem to figure that one out.the lines are really small,so i would guess that just the pressure would make a diff, not flow rate. but if you had that problem before, i will take your word on that and keep that in my head for reference to problems of the like.

Im running the F150 pump as is Fullload and Mudpig to name a few. I believe those pumps are around 90 psi at the pump and since u put the pump as close to the tank a possible, the pressure drops by the time it gets to ur motor. no need for a regulator as the fueilies have their own. Mind u we all run 16 valves now but it worked when we ran 8 valves too.
priming the pump is an issue when running on extreme angles and starving the pump dry. Th ford pump is a pusher pump, not a puller so when it gets a good gulp of air it becomes a pita is to prime.
I've never seen anyone running a second pump to help prime the Ford pump but it sounds like a good idea
