I just fixed my heat problem. Have you first checked that the valve on the firewall in the engine compartment (passenger side) has full travel? these little buggers seize up making the cable twist itself to the point where it does not work. The cable for the heater control can seem fine from inside the car when it is doing nothing at the valve end.
I'm also assuming that the thermostat is working well and not coated in sludge!
Just my two cents...it solved my problem!

stick your fingers up into the side vents and feel the top of the heater core. If you feel debris, this may be blocking air flow.

alroght i vacumed the crap out and lubled up the linkages and now i have hot air blowing, but not exactly strong. When commoningo out of the bottom it;s great, but the hiogher up you go the weeeeaaakkker it gets. it sounds like the fan is not strong enough to blow much air around
Is this normal? or is my fan on it;s last legs?

A samurai fan has 3 speeds...a common problem is that you lose 2 of them!!!
Then you must replace the switch...
Check this first, then check that the black plastic hoses on each side (I think there may only be one) of the assembly are properly secured on the holes and that they are not cracked or, if you wheel alot...kicked apart!!!

hmm gotta check that i think that there is only one speed
Ya i checked those hoses , even blew compressed air through them to make sure it was not clogged. Alot of dust and leafs came out but thats it, and it made no difference

Blower motor switch....
If you owned the car new (like I did!) three speeds and the third blew annoyingly hard.
If you have heat and no obstruction and the fan runs at one speed...you just need the switch!!
You can get it for $33 us at:

God knows what a dealer charges!!!
