I'm not too familiar with Sammy carburators...and I'm having problems. Once the engine is warmed up and I'm driving... whenever I push my clutch in the engine races up and stays there and slowly comes back down. When it comes back down it want's to stall..so I rev it a little and it surges up again. It keeps doing this...any ideas?

sticky linkages on the side of the carb. give all the external springs a good ole wd-40 lube and work it free.

do what fulload says with the engine not running check the linkage to see if it is moving freely and not sticking or rough feeling(even the butterflies inside , throttle cable ect) idle ok? vacuum leak will usely make it run rough wd-40 sprayed around vacuum lines will smooth en out the idle. make sure the fast idle works properly only works when the park lamps are on or heater fan. mine will nor idle after it warms up so i bypassed the fast idle to a switch pony carb to be installed then probably FI.

Yes I would check for vaccume leaks, then spray down linkages real good to clean them up with some carb cleaner- wd-40 or something like this. Then run a some sea-foam in the carb, and some in the full tank of gas for maybe a couple fills.

Id beat if you check for all this, you will solve the problem. It doesnt sound to serious.

Found a hard and cracked vacuum hose...I swapped it out and it fixed the problem...also the pcv valve was all gummed up so I swapped it. Seemed to fix the problem.
